Our summer celebration got competitive. There were winners, losers and a whole lot of questionable sports gear as Lead Tech held its first-ever sports day.
On Friday 23rd August, Lead Tech headed to the grounds of Ripley Castle for some nostalgic team-building with Live For Today activity centre.
This was a chance for Lead Tech staff to blow off some steam ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
Donning team headbands, the company split into four groups and battled it out with classic sports day games, including tug-of-war, egg-and-spoon racing and sack races.
Welly-wanging proved to be the most controversial of the day’s activities, resulting in disqualifications for modified wellies, and even a welly up a tree.
The overall winners for the day were the yellow team, followed by orange, green, and the pink team in last place. But everyone had a fantastic time, and planning has already started for round two.
Kelly Baynham, Lead Tech’s head of people and part of our leadership team, said:
“We like to ensure we have regular time planned as a team away from the office. It’s a very important part of our culture as we really see the benefits to working relationships and cross-team collaboration.
We’ve welcomed 15 new faces to the team recently so it was great to get out of the office and have some fun and friendly competition.
It’s also a well done and thank you from our joint directors, who are very generous with our social activities at Lead Tech. They understand the importance of having time together as a wider team to celebrate our hard work.”
