Introducing Derrick Smith, digital marketing manager

Lead Tech's digital marketing team welcomes Derrick Smith.

Lead Tech is pleased to announce it’s latest team recruit, new digital marketing manager Derrick Smith.

Derrick’s lived a well-travelled life, spending his childhood in Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and, best of all, our beloved Yorkshire.

He studied Business at Sheffield Hallam University and has worked in digital marketing for over 10 years, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Derrick’s a big sports fan, and a keen mountain biker. You can usually find him traversing the countryside most weekends.

Derrick is taking control of Lead Tech’s digital marketing efforts. He’ll improve our lead generation campaigns to provide more of the financial advice leads our partners want – and less of the ones they don’t.

Here’s Derrick himself to tell us a little more about his work, experience, and what he’s going to bring to Lead Tech:

“Having studied Business and then practised digital for over a decade at all levels in a range of agencies and client-side, I’ve had the privilege of working on some exciting campaigns for some great brands in financial services, retail, travel and sports apparel.

“I love how digital channels allow brands to develop highly measurable, value-driven user experiences that can positively impact people’s lives.

“Delivering digital initiatives for companies like Royal Sun Alliance, Jet2, Reebok and Adidas has given me insights into how brands are able to utilise a variety of mediums and assets to amplify their proposition across multiple channels to make an emotional connection with their audience.

“I spent the last four and a half years at Perform Group, one of the world’s leading sports media companies. I was involved in developing products and partnerships with Facebook, Mozilla and Google. Developing content aggregators for Facebook, to service users in developing markets that increased traffic for Perform’s sports websites, which attract over 80 million unique users every month. Most recently I was part of the team that launched Perform’s own sportsbook in the highly competitive UK gaming market. I led the user acquisition team to attract over 50k new users, generating a seven-figure revenue from a standing start in under 9 months.

“I’m excited to join Lead Tech at this stage of the company’s development. As one of the pioneers of the financial advice lead provider industry, we’re looking to explore how we can use technology to deliver an even better and more profitable service to our partners.”
