The IAB’s 2019 Video Advertising Spend Report shows a 25% increase in spend year on year. 78% of digital video viewers will watch advertising in exchange for the free content they’re looking for.

The spending increase isn’t surprising when you consider video viewers are an engaged audience, and you can really target your advertising to your ideal market. 

Conversational marketing

Conversational marketing is still growing and has a way to go before it truly becomes a mainstream concern. But it will emerge further in 2020.

As global research and advisory firm Gartner explains, “Conversational marketing technologies enable interactions between companies and customers that mimic human dialogue and do so at scale”.

Chatbots are the clearest example of this, but with the increasing prevalence of smart speakers in peoples’ homes, and as AI becomes more sophisticated, conversational marketing will become a must for advertisers.

Personalisation in marketing is becoming increasingly important.  70% of consumers get frustrated when content isn’t relevant to them.
