Richard Booth is our brand new web developer and the newest member of our growing development team.
Richard started out doing analytical chemistry, working in the industry for three years before switching to IT. Here, he taught himself software development in order to get himself an entry-level role before progressing through to a mid-level full stack developer.
In his own words, Richard tells us:
“I’m a fast learner and take pride in making my code as readable and efficient as possible. My experience working on different projects and reviewing other developers’ code means I can jump right in and start contributing to the code base.
“I understand the importance of creating eye-catching websites and landing pages which persuade the end user to interact and get involved.”
Richard is looking for some new challenges here at Lead Tech, as well as the opportunities to progress and improve his skill set. He’s also excited about working across all the teams in the business and enjoying some of our famous (or should that be infamous?) social events.
When he’s not coding or binge-watching TV series and movies, Richard actively coaches and participates in Canoe Slalom. He’s also a self-confessed “fairweather cyclist – which means if it isn’t chucking it down, and it’s a decent temperature I’ll get out on my bike. This means there’s about a month every year when I can call myself a cyclist!”
David Hemingway, our head developer is looking forward to Richard getting stuck in:
“Really good web developers are hard to find. But we’re proud to have a growing team here at Lead Tech who can get the job done, supporting our Digital and Sales teams and helping to generate IFA leads for our financial adviser partners.
“Our skills are getting stronger by the day and I’m really happy to welcome Richard to our team. He’s going to be a great addition to the company and a fantastic skillset for what we’ve got planned for the future”
