When Wolford London re-launched their e-commerce website, they approached Lead Technologies to provide them with web analytics, to give them a clear picture of their sales patterns.
Lead Technologies use powerful analytics tool webtrends, which analyses the web log files and creates a scenario analysis illustrating the customer pathway through the site from homepage to purchase.
When analysing the Wolford web logs, Lead Technologies discovered that a large percentage of people were leaving the site one step prior to confirming purchase….Worrying indeed, but easy to rectify when you know what the problem is.
When communicated to Wolford they introduced an automated email to the 'fall outs', and it soon became clear that the majority of these visitors were from the United States, and the fall out related to their complaints of the shipping costs being too high.
The shipping charging model was adjusted and the conversion rate improved by 13%.
