AB.Art are exquisite Swiss made timepieces, whose portfolio consists of nineteen impressive series that cater for everyone’s style and taste, whether male or female.

A.B.Art was introduced to the U.K in 2007 by businessman David Shoesmith who first saw an a.b.art watch on a trip to Switzerland. Being extremely impressed with the design and quality of the product, upon his return to England, he searched a supplier of the watches, but no avail. This drove him to contact a.b.art Switzerland direct and based on the rapport he struck up with Alexander Burhas and François Zahnd, the founders of a.b.art, he instead of simply buying a watch set up the business’s UK distribution arm to spread the word about this wonderful timepiece.

The new website was designed and developed in Actinic V8 by Lead Technologies with inspiration from the printed series catalogues that a.b.art produces every year. Our goal was to incorporate key specific design elements into the templates, from the displaying of products throughout the series right through to iconography to communicate product gender type.

The product, being the sole focus to the site, uses constant imagery to reinforce the brand whilst communicating across the products ethos of quality and excellence.

Once again the boundaries of the Actinic software were pushed, not just in terms of form but of function in order to give the user a very interactive experience in terms of choosing the right product and supporting strap style. Specific ranges, such as the MM Series, were customised to incorporate a mini gallery to display different angles of a product, as well as the ability to download its online PDF brochure.

Stock Monitoring was crucial for this project as these timepieces can occasionally become limited, due to its high demand, therefore additional plug-ins were introduced to keep the site stock up-to-date with immediate effect, once an item is purchased.
