Lead Technologies Launch E-Commerce site for Main Source.

Lead Technologies are delighted to announce the launch of www.main-source.co.uk. Main Source Sneakers is an independent shop based in Norwich which opened its first store in late 2004. After gaining a good reputation as the place to buy trainers, its owner felt that the next avenue to take was selling his stock online via the Actinic e-commerce software package. After an initial success with the site Lead Technologies were commissioned to upgrade and renovate the original site ‘snapshot’ in order to appeal to it’s existing customer base as well as attract new target audiences.

The look and feel of the site was crucial to it’s success in displaying its products in a quick yet neat display to the user, via a ‘top-trumps’ style design. This way the user could view the product image, product name and price immediately. To further support the site with its multitude of brands on offer, small variables were created to allow the client to insert brand logos into the individual sections, thus reinforcing the brand within the main-source design framework.

The Lead Technologies team also incorporated additional functionality into the Actinic software to increase the potential of the website for the customers shopping experience.

Functionality such as giving the product templates the ability to display multi-image views was essential with our clients type of product. As well as this the main navigation was reworked to allow for dynamic updating of sections and sub sections through out the site. The final piece of bespoke Actinic development was allowing our clients’ new customers to join their ever increasing mailing list, real-time, via amalgamated the Actinic software with a custom Web Service integrated using Java Script.
